In accordance with number of attentive observers about Somaliland political progress, particularly security parameters, there has been a red flag on Puntland’s political activities toward Somaliland in recent months as it already attempted to meddle Somaliland internal affairs by lately dispatching its elders and ministers to mediate the warring clans in Buuhoodle vicinity with no consent from Somaliland officials, but implicitly relied on Mr. Gaboose’s leniency.

In addition, a plane loaded with military supplies was heading to Puntland and misguidedly landed at Hargeisa international airport and consequently, the reaction of Somaliland government appears to be lenient with visible apathy and being confused steps to undertake against this plane. It looks newly elected Somaliland government is an overconfident and not being vigilant on the national security matter as this baffling plane marked a second security incident occurred since Mr. Silaanyo presidency started after ONLF rebels was dispatched from foreign country to wage war against Ethiopia and then landed at our shores without being noticed by security.

Puntland is in a suicidal mode and it poses real threat to both Somaliland and Somalia’s continued political reconciliations, as it now resorting to South African mercenaries to uproot certain local clans after abhorrently failing to work out on the political differences with other regions of Somalia. It had employed all imaginable strategy of becoming political leaders in Somali south regions with no tangible success so far and not surprisingly now resorting to South African mercenaries. One must ponder where this political tale of puntland will end.

Despite, the visible lack of concerns by international community over Puntland military build-ups, we demand answers from Mr.Silaanyo government and his interior minister about Putland and its concealed and naked aggressions toward Somaliland. We are also demanding to jail all the crews of this mysterious plane and not to provide soothed hotels as our security had been compromised, international army embargo was disrespected including an appalling recollection of South African past involvement and participation in the Somalia civil war by supporting former dictator and sending war planes carrying mercenary pilots to intentionally uproot Somaliland big cities and killed so many.

In conclusion, Somaliland’s lenient policy toward Puntland needs to be overhauled and tough security measures should be deployed. There’s no diplomatic discourse required when dealing Puntland as its primary political objectives include tarnishing Somaliland political images and unlawfully snatching part of Somaliland territory by claiming tribal lineages.
