Abudwaq (HOL) — A delegation led by Somalia's Minister of Internal Security, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, arrived in Abudwaq on Thursday to address the escalating security situation following the recent seizure of smuggled weapons by local militias.
The delegation, which includes officials from both the Federal Government and the Galmudug State Government, is visiting Abudwaq to respond to the capture of a large cache of weapons by armed militias. These weapons, reportedly originating from Ethiopia, were intercepted by the militias in Shiil Madow, a locality under Abudwaq, following clashes between Galmudug security forces and armed militias.
