Mogadishu (HOL) — The Council of Ministers of Somalia, chaired by Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre, has approved new legislative drafts aimed at economic reform and fiscal transparency. The drafts include the Income Tax Law, the General Financial Management Regulatory Framework, the Debt Policy, and the Borrowing and Guarantee Issuance System.

The Ministry of Public Works outlined ongoing and planned infrastructure projects. Roads are under construction in Garowe, Baidoa, and Kismayo, with additional roads planned for Beledweyne and Dhusamareeb. In Mogadishu, new drainage systems and sewage pipelines are set to be implemented.

The Council of Ministers was briefed on the ongoing security operations by the Ministries of Internal Security and Defense. Recent military operations have targeted extremist groups in several regions, clearing some areas of terrorist presence.
