Mogadishu (HOL) - The El Dher district in Galgaduud was hit with several mortar attacks on Tuesday evening, according to residents who were awakened by the strikes. At least five projectiles were fired, with some landing near a military base. The extent of the damage caused by these mortars is still being assessed by local officials.
In response to the attack, which is attributed to Al-Shabaab, government and local forces in El Dher have taken action. The situation was reported to be calm the following morning, though the community is still reeling from the disruptive artillery fire that shattered their night's peace.
This recent attack follows a
