Mogadishu (HOL) — The Somali Ministry of Internal Affairs and Reconciliation issued a strong appeal on Wednesday for an immediate end to the ongoing clan conflict in the Erigavo district of the Sanag region.
The Ministry condemned the recent violence, which has resulted in casualties on both sides and forced dozens of families to flee their homes.
In a press release, the Ministry called on local elders, religious scholars, and regional administrators to take decisive action to halt the bloodshed.
The renewed conflict was sparked by a series of revenge killings, where traders and other prominent individuals from the involved clans were targeted in the district.
The Ministry emphasized the importance of reconciliation and urged all parties to prioritize peace and stability in the region.
