Mogadishu (HOL) - Two Al Shabaab members were sentenced to death on Tuesday for their role in the October 2022 murder of a government security official.

Ahmed Sahal Ali Mohamud and Qudama Hamsa Yusuf were convicted of murdering police officer Shuke Adawe Mohamed in Mogadishu's Karan district back. A military firing squad will execute the convicted killers after they exhaust their appeals.
The court also found the two Al Shabaab members to be guilty of participating in other attacks against police and security officials.
Mohamud joined the militant insurgency group in 2017, while Yusuf joined Al Shabaab in 2020.
The pair have confessed to being active participants in battles against government security forces in Somalia and Kenya.
