Jowhar (HOL) - Several government soldiers were killed following a dawn Al-Shabaab attack on a military camp in the newly captured village of Hilowle-Gaab, Middle Shabelle, close to the border with Galgudud.

Heavy fighting occurred near Hilowle-Gaab village in Ruunirgood district, as Al Shabaab militants claim their fighters have overrun the camp.The government officials did not comment on it.
It is the second al-Shabaab attack in a few days in Hirshabelle state.
On Wednesday, two car bombs detonated by al Shabaab militants in Hiiraan’s Mahas district killed at least 35 people, including eight members of a single family, and wounded 40 more.
“Most of the dead are civilians. They are women and children,” Hassan-Kafi Mohamed Ibrahim, deputy police commissioner of Hirshabelle State, said.
