The Association of Friends of All Africa (TADD), a Turkish aid organization, distributed iftar (fast-breaking) meals to thousands of people in the African continent during Ramadan.
During Ramadan, the association delivered donations from Turkish philanthropists to 25,000 people in Uganda, Sudan, and Somalia, and provided food aid to 2,000 families in need, the organization said in a statement.
Also, it continues to provide in-kind and cash support every Ramadan, said Bilgehan Guntekin, chairman of the association.
They have also been providing voluntary health services in Africa for nine years, he added.
"Our African brothers, who see that their brothers in Türkiye take care of them, pray for us on every occasion. Thanks to charitable donations, the needy, especially the orphans and widows in the African continent, are taken care of," Guntekin said.
Within the framework of Ramadan, "we are experiencing the peace and happiness of giving some relief to our brothers and sisters who are struggling to hold on to life under difficult conditions in Uganda, Sudan, and Somalia," he added.
TADD was established in Istanbul in February 2015 with the aim of increasing cooperation between African countries and Türkiye in the fields of education, health, and economy, providing aid, and creating awareness of Africa in Türkiye.
