Somali President receives credentials from Kenyan Ambassador

    Mogadishu (HOL) - Somali President Hassan Mohamud on Thursday received credentials of the newly appointed Kenyan Ambassador to Somalia, Thomas Kipkosgei Chepkuto.

    Ambassador Thomas conveyed greetings and a message from Kenya's President-elect William Ruto to the Somali President and promised to work on the development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

    President Hassan Sheikh has emphasized the importance of the Somali government in improving diplomatic, political, economic, social, and commercial relations with the region's countries, based on mutual benefits and cooperation in strengthening security, stability, and counter-terrorism fighting.

    Mohamud told the Ambassador that the Somali government would assist him in carrying out his diplomatic duties.

    Somali President Hassan Mohamud is expected to travel to Kenya next week to attend William Ruto's inauguration ceremony, which will be held in Nairobi.
