Hirshabelle schedules final three Lower House seats

    Jowhar (HOL) The Hirshabelle State Electoral Implementation Team announced the timetable for the remaining three Lower House seats.

    The three seats include HOP# 135, last held by late female MP Amino Mohamed, who was killed by an al Shabaab suicide bomber in Beledweyne town last month. Mohamed was known as a vocal critic of the government and for her fiery speeches.

    The second seat is HOP# 141, which is held by former Minister of Security Mohamed Abukar Islow Duale, and HOP# 146, which Minister of Security Abdullahi Mohamed Nur currently occupies.

    The election for the three seats will be taking place in Jowhar on Saturday.

    Save for the disputed seats in Jubaland's Gedo region, Hirshabelle is the only state yet to conclude the Lower House elections.
