At least eight people killed, 17 injured in Al-Shabaab bombing in Mogadishu

MOGADISHU (HOL) - At least eight people were killed and 17 others injured in a deadly car bombing in Mogadishu’s Taleh district.

Police sources said eight people were confirmed dead in the incident but it was not immediately clear if students and teachers were among the casualties.

Sections of Mucaasir School was destroyed during the attack which happened near the school.

The militant group Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility noting it was targeting ‘western trainers’ who were leaving Gordon military base en route to Halane base camp located within the precincts of Aden Adde Airport.
