Thessaloniki, Greece (HOL) — Greek club PAOK FC have signed Somali-Swedish winger Taha Ali from Malmö FF on a contract running until June 2029, the two clubs said.
Ali completed medical examinations, signed his contract with PAOK and joined Alessio Lisi’s squad ahead of the official start of the new season.
Born in Stockholm to Somali parents who sought refuge in Sweden, Ali has built an impressive career in European football.
He joined Malmö in 2023 and helped the club win the Swedish league title.
Ali earned his first senior Sweden call-up in January 2024 and marked his debut with an assist in a 2-1 win over Estonia.
He was also part of Sweden’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making appearances against the Netherlands and France.
The move to PAOK marks a new step in Ali’s career as he joins one of Greece’s most prominent clubs ahead of the new season.
