Mogadishu (HOL) — Somali Police Force Commander General Asad Osman Abdullahi on Monday received a high-level delegation from Turkey in Mogadishu, as the two sides discussed strengthening security cooperation.
According to officials, the meeting focused on enhancing bilateral ties in the security sector, with particular emphasis on advancing training programs and building the institutional capacity of the Somali Police Force, including the elite Haramcad unit.
Turkey has been a key partner in rebuilding Somalia’s security institutions, including the military, police, and air force. The country operates one of its largest overseas military training bases in Mogadishu, where thousands of Somali security personnel have received training in recent years.
