Mogadishu (HOL) — Banadir regional police have denied reports circulating on social media that a person was killed inside Waaberi Police Station and that a body was removed from the station.
In a statement Wednesday, police said the incident occurred at about 8:50 p.m. after a suspect, identified as Farhan Ibrahim Abshir, allegedly tried to seize a firearm from one of the officers at the station.
Police said Farhan sustained minor injuries and that no one was killed in the incident.
The Banadir Regional Police Division categorically denied claims that a body had been removed from Waaberi Police Station, describing the reports as baseless.
Police said an investigation into the incident is ongoing and that further details will be released after the inquiry is completed.
