Baidoa (HOL) — Southwest regional state leader Abdiaziz
Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen officially laid the foundation stone on Saturday for
a new Teacher Training Center in Baidoa, the administrative capital of the
state.
The ceremony was attended by key officials, including
Southwest Minister of Education, Culture and Higher Learning Zahra Osman Ahmed,
Baidoa Mayor and District Commissioner Abdullahi Ali Watiin, and other senior
government representatives.
In his remarks, Laftagareen reaffirmed his administration’s
commitment to strengthening the education sector, pledging to revive
educational institutions and enhance the quality of teaching and learning
services across the region.
“This center is part of our broader strategy to invest in
the future by empowering educators,” Laftagareen said.
The new facility will include multiple sections dedicated to
training and equipping teachers throughout Southwest State. Officials say the
initiative is designed to improve education quality and expand the professional
capacity of the teaching workforce.
