Jowhar (HOL) — Armed assailants opened fire on civilians at
a local market in Qoryooley district on Thursday, killing one woman and
injuring two others, according to eyewitnesses.
The victim, identified as Habiibo Ali Shiiqaley, was a
well-known market vendor who supported her family through daily trade.
Witnesses said the attackers fled the scene immediately
after the shooting. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and no
arrests have been made.
Authorities have yet to identify suspects or provide an
official explanation for the incident.
The shooting adds to a growing number of similar violent
attacks reported in markets across the region, raising concerns about public
safety and the absence of effective law enforcement in some districts.
Local government officials have not issued any statements
regarding the incident as of Thursday afternoon.
