Liverpool, Man Utd end in thrilling draw in Premier League

    Premier League leader Liverpool and Manchester United concluded their much-anticipated duel in a 2-2 draw on Sunday.

    The game was under threat of not being played as scheduled due to heavy snow in the north of England, but fans were pleased that it finally went ahead to offer a pulsating game of football.

    Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim was the happier of the two coaches after his side showed the passion that had been missing in recent defeats.

    The visitor took the lead in the 52nd minute when Lisandro Martinez found space inside the Liverpool area to smash the ball into the roof of the net.

    Liverpool fought back and Cody Gakpo leveled when he cut inside and fired in at the far post just seven minutes later. Mohamed Salah put Liverpool ahead from the penalty spot in the 70th minute after Matthijs de Ligt was guilty of handball.

    There was no let-up on a rapid surface and Amad Diallo leveled 2-2 in the 80th minute as United again found joy down the Liverpool right.

    Both teams had chances to win the game, with Liverpool's Conor Bradley going closest, only for goalkeeper Andre Onana to flick away his shot from a tight angle.

    Liverpool leads second-placed Arsenal by six points with a game in hand.

    There were three penalties and the points were shared as Fulham drew 2-2 at home to an improving Ipswich Town, who looked to be on the verge of its second win in two games, before Raul Jimenez scored his second penalty of the game in injury time.

    Sammie Szmodics put Ipswich ahead in the 38th minute, but Jimenez's penalty made it 1-1 in the 69th minute.

    A foul on Liam Delap 30 seconds later allowed the player to thump Ipswich back ahead, and it looked as if it would take three points to lift it out of the bottom three, but a foul on Jimenez in the last minute allowed him to save a point for Fulham.
