Mogadishu (HOL) – Somalia’s bicameral Federal Parliament on Tuesday approved the National Budget for the 2026 fiscal year during a joint session held in Mogadishu.
The approved budget totals $1,386,807,242, outlining the federal government’s financial plan for the coming year.
Senior government officials attending the joint session emphasized that the 2026 budget is aimed at strengthening state institutions, enhancing national security, expanding social services, and supporting economic development across the country.
The approval of the 2026 National Budget is expected to play a central role in advancing the Federal Government of Somalia’s development agenda, as well as ongoing efforts toward stabilization, reconstruction, and improved service delivery.
