Kismayo (HOL) – Jubaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam Madobe returned to Kismayo on Monday after reaching a consensus at the ongoing National Consultative Council (NCC) meeting in Mogadishu failed. Madobe's withdrawal from the talks reportedly stemmed from his refusal to proceed without including Puntland and Khatumo in the discussions. He argued that their absence would make it impossible to hold credible elections nationwide.
