Mogadishu (HOL) - The Banadir regional court acquitted the former director of Somalia's immigration and citizenship agency, Mohamed Adan Jimale Koofi, and Muhidin Hassan Jurus 'Saabey,' the head of taxation at the Ministry of Finance, in corruption cases on Saturday.
The chairman of the court stated that all corruption charges against the two officials were cleared and their legal rights restored.
The court's decision comes amid reports that Mohamed Aden Jimale Koofi is among several candidates running for the post of President of Galmudug. Koofi is expected to arrive in the country in the coming days.
