President Mohamud meets with elite Gorgor commando commanders

    Dhusamareb (HOL) - Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with Somali Gorgor (Eagle) Commando Brigades commanders at the Somali National Army's Operation Center in Dhusamareb on Wednesday.

    During the meeting, President Mohamud listened to reports on the ongoing military operations against militants in Galmudug and Hirshabelle State. He emphasized that these ongoing operations represent a struggle for independence and the freedom of the Somali people and their nation against foreign colonialists.

    He addressed the commanders, saying, "You are engaged in a war that aligns with Islamic law principles, and Allah will reward you. You are sacrificing your lives for our country to attain the honour and dignity other nations enjoy, and both the government and the Somali people stand by you."

    The President praised the officers for their dedication to the country, strength, and demonstrated capabilities during the war. He urged them to continue their efforts and intensify their operations.

    Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud reiterated that military operations against al-Shabab will not cease until a final victory is achieved.
