Mogadishu (HOL) - The Banadir Regional Police Command has announced that the police force operations in the Abdiaziz district of Mogadishu have led to the arrest of a father accused of killing his six-year-old son.
"The Abdiaziz district police force arrested the suspect, Mohamed Ali Ilmi, son of Haawo Ali Iman, aged 45, who is accused of stabbing his son, the late Saqir Mohamud Mohamed Ali Elmi, aged 6, in the Heliwa district," the Banadir Regional Police stated.
According to the police statement, it is believed that the suspect used a dagger or a knife to commit the murder.
"The motive behind the killing is not yet known, and the people living in the Heliwa district are greatly concerned," the Banadir Police Command added.
The police further stated that they were investigating the reason for the murder and that the father would be brought before the court.
