Ten civilians injured in clash between military and residents in Ethiopia's Somali region

Jigjiga (HOL) – At least ten people were wounded in a clash between Ethiopian military forces and residents of Kebri Dehar, a town in the Somali regional state of Ethiopia, on Sunday.

The cause of the clash is unclear, but reports indicate that young men threw stones at military forces passing through the town. In response, the military reportedly used live ammunition.

The incident sparked outrage in the town, with many angry residents taking to the streets to protest the military's actions. Many shouted slogans condemning the shooting of civilians by the Ethiopian army.

Most of those injured in the clashes are being treated in hospitals in Kebri Dehar City. The local authorities have condemned the incident and announced their intention to meet with military officials to discuss what happened.

As of last night, the situation in the town had calmed down, and traffic in the city and commercial areas has returned to normal today.
