Mogadishu (HOL) - Puntland security forces arrested the man allegedly behind the explosion that killed six people in the village of Milxo in Lasqorey district in the Sanaag region.
The Puntland Security Agency PSF said in a statement that the man affiliated with al-Shabaab was apprehended during a security operation in the coastal town of Bosaso. The agency did not indicate the man's name and when the operation occurred.
At least six people were killed, and 11 others were injured in the explosion earlier this month.
According to PSF, the apprehended man was a technician who specialized in manufacturing explosives for the militants. Puntland Security Forces recently showed al-Shabaab and ISIS members, who a military court later executed.
Several people were injured in a recent fight between al Shabaab and residents of Milxo village; the insurgents have bases in the vicinity of the village where they usually carry out their attacks.
