Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Friday congratulated his new Somali counterpart Abshir Omar Huruse on his assumption of the position.

According to a statement by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Cavusoglu and Huruse had a phone conversation in which they also discussed bilateral relations.Huruse assumed office as the new foreign minister of Somalia on Aug. 13.
