Mogadishu (HOL) - Suspected al Shabaab gunman was shot dead by the Somali
police after he killed a municipal police officer in Garasbaley neighborhood on
the outskirts of the capital Mogadishu.
Police spokesman Abdifatah Aadan Hassan told reporters that the
man was among a group of gunmen who carried out the attack and killed the
officer while on duty.
"The killing was immediately responded to by the nearby
police, who shot dead one of the gunmen killed the officer at Gedi Ferdhiya
area," he added.
The al-Qaeda-linked armed group al Shabaab has not yet
claimed responsibility for the attack.
