Man kills 5 of his family members before committing suicide

Mogadishu (HOL) - Five family members are dead in Mogadishu after a shocking quadruple murder-suicide on Saturday that has left investigators and neighbours stunned.

What they know for sure is that the suspected killer, Abdulkadir Adan, armed with an AK-47 gunned down his wife, his sister and two of his male cousins in the Wadajir neighborhood. Adan then turned the gun on himself, taking his own life.

The victims have been identified as Hawa Mohamud Adan, who is believed the be the suspects sister; his wife, Halima Hussein Ali Kowshe; and his cousins, Abdullahi Mohamed Yalahow and Mohamed Turyare.

Mogadishu residents are not strangers to violence, but the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murders have left many people in utter disbelief.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what prompted Adan to murder his own family.
