Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit had talks on Tuesday with Somali Finance Minister Abdirahman Duale Beileh on means of drumming up Arab support for Somalia.
The two sides discussed the progress realized so far in a two-day plenary meeting on means of supporting Somali development plans.
Abul Gheit stressed the AL's commitment to supporting Somalia in order to establish security and stability, Abdul Gheit's spokesman Mahmoud Afifi said on Tuesday.
The plenary meeting - which the AL hosts - is meant to stand on the Somali government's needs and priorities in the coming years in order to realize development.
The meeting will rally Arab efforts to support the Somali development plans.
The Somali minister expressed deep appreciation for the efforts being exerted by the AL to support Somalia, especially Abul-Gheit's initiative to hold the plenary meeting.
