Mogadishu (HOL) - Acting President and the speaker of the Federal parliament of Somalia Mohamed Sheik Osman Jawari said Saturday that the body of the late Mohamed Souleiman Tubeec will be laid to rest in the capital Mogadishu on Sunday.

The announcement from the Somali parliament speaker comes a day after the government of the self-proclaimed nation of Somaliland formed a 12-member committee to coordinate the arrangements of the funeral ceremony of Somalia’s king of the voice Mohamed Souleiman.

The legendary singer recently passed away at a hospital in Germany where he has been ailing for the past several weeks.

“In the name of Allah the most merciful and the most compassionate, we all belong to Allah and we will all be returned to him—I would like to send my sympathy to the entire Somali people whereever they are in the world” the Speaker of the federal republic of Somalia told the state-run media adding that the death of the late Souleiman has affected all Somalis.

“ I hereby want to announce that the body of the late Mohamed Souleiman will arrive in Mogadishu on Sunday morning and will be laid to rest in the capital—there will be a national memorial congregation” Mr Mohamed Sheik Osman Jawari said in an interview with the state-run media on Saturday.

He called on the Somali people to pray for the late Mohamed Suleyman.

“Mohamed Souleiman was a national individual who had played a key role in the long struggle for independence of the country—he was a man of great publicity” the Somali speaker noted in his interview with the state-run media on Saturday.

It is not yet clear where exactly Souleiman’s national burial ceremony will take place, as contradicting preparations for the late Mohamed Souleiman’s memorial service are currently under way in both Mogadishu and Hargeisa.
