SANA'A,--- Fisheries Wealth Minister Awadh al-Socatri met here on Sunday with Fisheries Minister of Puntland State of Somalia Hasan Mahmoud.At the meeting, al-Socatri and Mahmoud discussed areas of cooperation between Yemen and Puntland State of Somalia and ways of boosting them.
Al-Socatri stressed the importance of developing a mechanism to regulate fishermen activities in accordance with the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries.
He stressed the importance of enhancing mutual cooperation in traditional and commercial fishing, fishery industries and promoting trade exchange and investments between Yemen and Somalia as well as conducting studies on the fish stock assessment.
In return, Mahmoud stressed the importance to develop mutual cooperation and exchange information, expertise and visits between specialists in the fisheries field.
