A suicide bomb attack on a Turkish Embassy building killed one police officer and wounded three others.

Three Turkish police officers, who were wounded in a suicide bomb attack on a Turkish Embassy annex in the Somali capital of Mogadishu, were airlifted to Turkey.

In Saturday's attack, police officers guarding the Turkish Embassy annex housing Turkish diplomatic staff managed to kill two assailants but a third attacker detonated a vehicle laden with explosives. One Turkish police officer was killed in the attack.

An ambulance plane carrying the slain officer and the wounded ones landed at the Esenboga International Airport in the Turkish capital, Ankara.

The wounded guards were transferred to capital's Ataturk Hospital. A Health Ministry official said they have no life-threatening injuries.

Al-Shabaab militants claimed responsibility for the attack.
