Somali coach Sam Ssimbwa had hoped to help propel the team to their first ever quarterfinal place in the regional tournament but he saw his dreams go up in smoke in the 86th minute when his solid defence was broken by the Sudanese.

Somali had put up a relentless effort playing a solid game with fluid passes that mesmerized their fans but at the final whistle Ssimbwa could only scratch his head in disbelief as his dreams were shattered.

Despite the loss Ssimbwa was full of praise of his team describing them as a team with a great future despite the turbulence back home.

"We are out but I can tell you I have no regrets at all. The team played very well and according to my instructions but we were only unlucky not to score and finally we succumbed to a last minute goal that distabilised us."

"Somali is a team that has got a great future and they have very talented players who will go places as long as there is continuity in the team. It was a nice building process but we now look forward to playing our last group game while atleast hoping for a win," Ssimbwa told supersport.com.

Somali are bottom of group B and have no point from two matches played so far they clash with Tanzania in their final match on Saturday.
