RCO inaugurates first potable water well in Somalia

The first Bahrain potable water well dug in the sisterely Republic of Somalia funded by the Royal Charity Organization (RCO) has been inaugurated in cooperation with Islamic Trans-World Relief Organization.

On this occasion, the RCO secretary general Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayyed submitted utmost gratitude and appreciation to HM the King who is the Honorary President of the Royal Charity Organization for HM's humanitarian initiatives and generous granting of support and assistance in disaster relief aid to the needy, and praised the Government's support led by HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister supported by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Crown Prince, and efforts of the RCO's board of trustees chairman HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa in supporting Somali brethren, and praised the Bahraini people for their valuable contributions aimed at alleviation of the plight of Somali brethren.

Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayyed emphasized that the Royal Charity Organization supported by the wise leadership continues its humanitarian work for the sake of assisting Somali brethren and offering development aid to restore development and contribute in the best interest of all parts of the Somali people as part of a series of development projects.

The RCO's secretary general praised the Islamic Relief Organization for cooperation in implementing a number of develop and relief projects in numerous countries wherein the RCO has delivered relief assistance and lauded the topnotch reputation of the Islamic Trans-World Relief Organization in voluntary charity and international relief efforts in disaster-afflicted countries in various regions.

On the other hand, Hani Morsi expressed utmost gratitude and appreciation to HM the King and to HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa as well as to all Bahraini people for their generous support and assistance to the Somali people which reflects the solid bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and the Kingdom of Bahrain's excellent bilateral relations with all brotherly and friendly countries, praising the great strategic role of the Kingdom of Bahrain whence the Royal Charity Organization exerts efforts in delivering relief assistance to disaster-stricken countries with special focus on development projects and relief aid especially in the sisterly Republic of Somalia.

The Royal Charity Organization (RCO) has also signed an agreement for rectification of eyesight for 4000 Somali ophthalmic patients and restoration of eyesight to 2000 Somali patients in cooperation with the Islamic Trans-World Relief Organization as part of philanthropic assistance from the Kingdom of Bahrain towards disaster relief for Somali people.

The agreement was signed on behalf of RCO by its Secretary General Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayyed and on behalf of the Islamic Relief executive director by Mr. Hani Morsi.

It is worth mentioning that the Royal Charity Organization has laid down the foundation stone of the Kingdom of Bahrain's Hospital in Somalia, in addition to digging of 10 potable water wells in various areas in Somalia in cooperation with the Islamic Relief Organization besides Bahraini emergency relief aid consignments shipped earlier to Somalia of up to 200 tons of foodstuffs and medical aid.
