Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs ambassador Mona Omar on 1/7/2012 left for Italy heading a delegation in a four-day visit to participate in meetings of the international contact group concerning Somalia which starts on Monday.

Omar said Egypt's participation falls within the framework of its interest in the Somalia's issue and to consider mechanisms required to enhance legitimacy as the present transitional government headed by Somali President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed will end in August 2012.
