At least three Somali officers have been killed and 12 others injured in an attack carried by armed men in the Suqa Holaha district of the capital Mogadishu.
This comes after Somalia’s new parliament was sworn in for the first time after over 20 years on Monday, as the war-torn country tries to end decades of conflict.
The African nation has lacked an effective central government following the ouster of former President Mohamed Siad Barre in 1991.
